On May 16, Tatarstan President paid a working visit to the ancient town of Bolgar to inspect the progress made in the construction of the new Qol Ghali hotel complex.
Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Deputy Chairman of the regional Council, Executive Director of Revival Regional Foundation Tatyana Larionova and other officials took part in the inspection.
The construction of the facility started in spring of 2015 outside the historical wall of the ancient town of Bolgar on the bank of the Volga River. The total number of rooms is 151. The complex includes a spa, thermal areas, swimming pools, and underground parking for 220 places. The distinctive feature of this project is that it will have a bath built as a recreation of historical ones (an analogue of the White Chamber of the 14th century).
Minnikhanov and Shaimiev inspected the main foyer and the bath complex and got acquainted with the hotel room capacity. Also, Tatarstan President was shown a project to develop the embankment along the hotel complex, where it is planned to equip an amphitheater-style stage, a swimming pool and a recreation area.
In general, the facility is more than 90 per cent ready. The finishing work is currently underway. Moreover, the adjacent territory is being landscaped.
