RF Prime Minister Vladimir Putin presented the Stolypin Medal to the former President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev on February, 15.

“Within my current powers I would like to grant you a government medal – the Stolypin Medal because you were not just the President of Tatarstan, you really worked on development of the republic and its main industries,” Vladimir Putin said.

Head of RF Government granted the award to the former Head of Tatarstan during the meeting with the sitting President of republic Rustam Minnikhanov.

The PM recalled the time when they discussed issues connected with development of whole industries and certain enterprises with Mintimer Shaimiev.

“Today we have visited KAMAZ with Rustam, but it was you who introduced me the enterprise for the first time and told about the problems it faced,” Vladimir Putin said. “I remember your attentive attitude to KAMAZ and other major enterprises of republic. It is needless to say about the social sphere, Kazan has enjoyed great changes,” the PM added.

Mintimer Shaimiev reminded that these changes would not happen without the help of Vladimir Putin.

During the conversation with Rustam Minnikhanov Vladimir Putin noted that republic had achieved good results in various spheres.
