Mintimer Shaimiev holds a meeting on the reconstruction of the Cathedral of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God

On July 25, State Counsellor of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Revival Regional Foundation Mintimer Shaimiev held a regular meeting at the place of the reconstruction of the Cathedral of the Kazan icon of the Mother of God.

At the beginning of the meeting, Director General of Evrostroiholding+ Contractor Organization Vladimir Kazilov informed Shaimiev and Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Feofan about the progress made in restoration work. For today, large and small crosses have been installed, the roofing of small copper domes has been completed, thermal insulation of the main dome has been installed and external plastering of the Cathedral and the Cave Temple has been done.

Today’s meeting focused on the Cave Temple, on the walls of which a presentation of a conceptual decision on the design of the place of the appearance of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and the iconostasis of the Cave Temple was made.

Shaimiev, Metropolitan Feofan and other participants of the meeting actively discussed proposals of authoritative experts and specialists, made their comments and suggestions.

"We have mainly approved the concept of the presented design of the Cave Temple today. This is a defining moment, search completed, doubts dispelled, now we need to begin the implementation of this project. Therefore, everyone for its part should get involved and, of course, continue construction work at the same time. It is a thorny way, work must be carried in all areas,” Shaimiev concluded, summing up the results of the meeting.
