Mintimer Shaimiev: The address is run through with confidence

On September 24, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov delivered his annual address to the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan about internal and external situation of the republic.

Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the meeting, after which he shared his impressions with journalists.

"The annual message of the Head of the republic to the State Council became a rule and an attribute of statehood and I, as a person who dealt with not just one address in my life, would like to say that today's speech of Tatarstan President has sounded not as a self-flagellation or desire to do something. Now we have the confidence that we have chosen the path properly to the developing market economy of our country and how Tatarstan finds itself in it. At this stage, Tatarstan has found itself and feels confident in all spheres of life and socio-economic development, which were touched today. You just sit there thinking, it is not only the expectation, it is really what is being done in the republic. And we are improving. The address is filled with confidence, confidence on a real basis and with the vision of the present and the future. This is a huge achievement. At the same time, this is the greatest responsibility, because our republic is one of the leading regions in the Russian Federation in socio-economic development. It is because you have to be able to set the tone that means that we should further use all our scientific, technical and human capital to continue to work successfully. And we have that confidence,” Shaimiev said.
