On September 25, at the Piramida Entertainment Complex, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov and Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the solemn ceremony of summing up the results of the ninth contest of social and cultural projects of LUKOIL Company in Tatarstan.
As many as 610 applications from 45 regions of the republic were submitted and 146 projects won the contest this year.
"We have a good tradition to hold this contest every year. I would like to thank LUKOIL Company, our strategic partner in all matters, for this holiday and the opportunity for our residents to show their worth," Minnikhanov said.
In total, more than 1,100 projects, which won the competition in four categories, three of which such as Ecology, Spirituality and Culture, Sport are permanent and the fourth one is new every year, have received grants over eight years. In 2018, the fourth category was Youth Initiatives, which was devoted to the Year of Volunteers declared in Russia.
As many as 28 projects were recognized as the best in this category and will contribute to the professional adaptation and employment of young people with disabilities, the training of children from orphanages financial literacy, and the popularization of the physical, moral and spiritual development of young people, the development of a healthy lifestyle and the volunteer movement.
The ninth contest of social and cultural projects of LUKOIL Company in Tatarstan was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the LUKOIL Charitable Fund, one of the first corporate funds in modern Russia set up to implement the Company's social charitable programmes in the regions of its activities.
