Rustam Minnikhanov and Mintimer Shaimiev attend the opening night of the Syuyumbike Opera

On September 26, at the Jalil Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and State Counsellor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev attended the opening night of the Syuyumbike Opera created by Rezeda Akhiyarova.

"The opening night of the Syuyumbike Opera is a landmark event to us. We are proud that the national opera, which was created by professionals, our specialists. is such a success. The opera is spectacular and full of history, our history. We need to know our history. The premiere was held at the appropriate level. Tatarstan can be proud of the fact that such a product has appeared in the republic. This event will certainly go down in history!" Minnikhanov said.

Director Yury Alexandrov, theatre designer Viktor Gerasimenko, costume designer Victoria Kharkhalup, choreographer David Avdysh made the stage performance ordered by the theatre. The main parts were performed by the leading soloists of the Kazan theatre group, as well as invited artists. Renat Salavatov conducted the opera.

Besides, there was an exhibition of paintings "The image of Syuyumbike in works of art of Tatar artists" in the foyer of the Opera and Ballet Theatre. The audience saw the famous graphic miniature of Baki Urmanche, as well as paintings of contemporary artists from Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny and St. Petersburg.
