Mintimer Shaimiev visits Semey town in Kazakhstan

On June 16 Tatarstan delegation led by State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev visited the Abai Kunanbauev museum during their trip to Semey town (Kazakhstan). The delegation was accompanied by East-Kazakhstan region Mayor Berdybek Saparbaev and City Mayor Aibek Karimov.

The museum Director Zhandas Aubakir and research worker Umitkaisha Ibraev showed the delegates the richest museum exhibits.

Then, Mintimer Shaimiev laid flowers to Abai monument.

Tatarstan guests visited East-Kazakhstan Nevzorov’s regional museum of fine arts afterwards. The museum was founded in 1985 and has the largest collection of art treasures in Kazakhstan.

The opening of the exhibition of Tatarstan People’s Artist Kamil Mullashaev took place in the museum. The exhibition was presented by the artist himself.

Tatarstan delegation also visited Regional Specialized Ballet School for talented children that was established and is now headed by Kamiliya Ismailova.

Moreover, Tatarstan delegates looked over the Tatar school of arts. Mintimer Shaimiev supported reconstruction of the school building some time ago.

Later on the same day, guests visited Polkovnichiy island, where they went to see memorial complex “Silnee smerti” (translated from Russian as “Stonger than death”) in memory of those who suffered nuclear tests.

Then, Mintimer Shaimiev and Berdybek Saparbaev planted trees in “Kazan agachy” park.

To the point, the Tatar national holiday Sabantui was celebrated on this island.
