Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov and State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev were on a working trip in the ancient city of Bolgar and viewed objects under construction and restoration within realization of the project of the Republican fund “Vozrozhdenie” (Revival).

They firstly visited the supposed place for installing the sculpture by Dashi Namdakov “Guardian” and went to the Riverside station combined with the Museum of Bulgarian civilization where interior finishing works, mounting of engineering systems and decoration of the facade are being implemented now.

The issue of installing the sculpture of an educator and poet Kul Gali was discussed during the visit to the Riverside station. Mintimer Shaimiev believes that it should be installed in the foreground, on the ground floor of the building. RT Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov supported the idea.

A Commemorative sign in honor of official adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgars in 922 was the next object of interest. The Commemorative sign was unveiled on June19, 2010 in Bolgar during festive celebrations dated to 1121st anniversary of adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria. The object is to be finished by May 21. Main construction works have been completed.

To the point, the world’s biggest printed Koran will be placed in main hall of the Commemorative sign. The museum – exhibition complex will be located on the basement floor.

Later on Ildar Khalikov and Mintimer Shaimiev looked over the place of a future festival – event complex where celebrations dated to next anniversary of adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria will be held.

The officials also visited the complex of Bolgar mosque and madrasah being constructed outside the Bolgar town, near the Museum of bread. The complex will comprise a mosque, a madrasah and the residence of sheikh-ul-islam or mufti hazrat for holding official meetings with religious figures and reception of guests.

The Museum of bread, the interactive museum of the history of agriculture and bread production on Tatarstan land since ancient times until the 20th century was the last object they saw.

The visiting conference of the organizing committee on preparation and holding festive event dated to 1123d anniversary of Islam adoption by the Volga Bulgaria was held afterwards.
