Mintimer Shaimiev: The dialogue of two cultures is gaining momentum

A meeting of the Republic of Tatarstan State Counselor and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Russian Federation Jean de Gliniasty took place at the Kazan Kremlin on Monday.

Tatarstan Vice-Premier – Minister of Culture Zilya Valeyeva made a brief presentation of the fund “Revival” for the guests before the meeting.

 

Mintimer Shaimiev greeted the French delegation members and said that the relations between our republic and France were developing progressively – all ambassadors of the French Republic pay visits to Tatarstan. “Today’s visit of such a large delegation of the embassy and business representatives is an excellent result of the huge work conducted as part of the France-Russia Year,” Tatarstan State Counselor said. He pointed out success of our relations in culture.

“The created basis provides means for making our relations larger and more substantive,” Mintimer Shaimiev said. He pointed out the high value of the work by non-commercial public organization Alliance Fraincaise-Kazan under guidance of Tatarstan Minister of Culture Zilya Valeyeva.


The dialogue of two cultures is gaining momentum, the first president of Tatarstan believes. He cited the example of 4,000 young Tatarstan citizens studying French at present.
