Mintimer Shaimiev meets with Princess of Kent

The meeting of the Republic of Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev and Princess of Kent was held on Friday, October 22. Princess of Kent and her spouse Michael Kent, Queen of Great Britain Elizabeth II cousin are sponsors of dozens of charity projects in Russia. Princess of Kent is a famous architect, interior designer, as well as well-known historian, author of some historical books and a series of lectures on the role of women in the European history.

Princess of Kent visited Kazan for the second time. According to her words, Tatarstan’s rich culture and history, the places where cultures of different nations merge attract her. The Princess showed interest in the project on reviving the ancient city of Bolgar and Sviyazhsk island-town.

Mintimer Shaimiev informed a distinguished guest about the unique history of these cities, progress in reconstruction works and work of the republican fund of RT historical and cultural monuments revival. “We want to implement the most modern technologies and advanced ideas in restoration of the historical monuments,” he informed. The Princess said she would be happy to help in realization of this project.
