Mintimer Shaimiev: Well-prepared people come to local government

Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev and his wife took part in the election of deputies to representative bodies of municipalities on Sunday, October 10.

Mintimer Shaimiev and his spouse Sakina voted at the ballot point № 59 in the Cadet School building. After having voted, RT State Council met with journalists and answered their questions.

He pointed out the importance of the election, which serves as a tool for people’s constitutional rights realization. “I’d like the local government representatives to have more rights,” Mintimer Shaimiev noted.

“Well-prepared, respected people come to the local government. It’s of much importance,” Mintimer Shaimiev said.
