Mintimer Shaimiev meets with President of the Russian Association of financial and industrial groups Oleg Soskovets and former Prime Minister of Malaysia Mahathir bin Mohamad

Tatarstan State Councillor Mintimer Shaimiev met with Oleg Soskovets, the President of the Russian Association of financial and industrial groups, at the Kazan Kremlin’s Representative Building on June 28.

They discussed issues of cooperation of republican companies and the Russian Association of financial and industrial groups.

Tatarstan First Deputy Prime Minister Ravil Muratov attended the meeting.

After the meeting with Oleg Soskovets, Mintimer Shaimiev received former Prime Minister of Malaysia Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad.

Mahathir bin Mohamad worked as Malaysian Prime Minister in 1981-2003 when the country turned from a country with an underdeveloped agrarian economy into one of modern highly developed South-Eastern countries.

Mintimer Shaimiev and Mahathir bin Mohamad shared memories of their meeting in April 1997 during of the official visit of the Tatarstan First President to Malaysia.

Director of the Presidential Department of Foreign Affairs –Aide to the Tatarstan President on international issues Timur Akulov took part in the meeting.
