Mintimer Shaimiev has visited Bolgar

Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev visited the city of Bolgar, the Spas Municipal District, Tatarstan on April 30.

The visit started at the site of the future Museum of Bread. The museum complex is supposed to demonstrate technologies for grain growing, procession and bread baking.

Mintimer Shaimiev gave instructions to launch works not later than on May 10. “The complex is to become Russia’s best Museum of Bread,” he declared. “The task is clear,” Marat Akhmetov, the RT Agriculture Minister reacted.

Then, the Tatarstan First President went to the place where the quay, river port with the Bolgar Civilization Museum are to be constructed.

During the inspection, the place of where the symbol of adoption of Islam in 922 would be erected was determined.

“This symbol will be our tribute to those who adopted Islam at this place,” Mintimer Shaimiev said.
