Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev has met with TURKSOY Secretary General Duisen Kaseinov

The meeting of Mintimer Shaimiev, the State Counsellor of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Duisen Kaseinov, the Director General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY, was held at the Kazan Kremlin on April 23.

Events to be held in the framework of the Year of Gabdulla Tukai (2011 was proclaimed the Year of Gabdulla Tukai by TURKSOY), inscribing the festival of Sabantui on the UNESCO intangible heritage list and the large-scale project of restoration of Bolgar and Sviyazhsk were discussed at the meeting. Present at the meeting were Zilya Valeyeva, the RT Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Culture, Timur Akulov, the Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs – Aide to the RT President on international issues and Zemfira Khasanova, the representative of the RT Ministry of Culture in TURKSOY.
