Rowing channel project discussed by international experts in Kazan

The construction of a rowing channel that has stands with a capacity of 1500 spectators has commenced in Kazan as part of the “Universiade-2013” programme.

A staff conference has been held in Kazan on the issue of whether or not the rowing channel project measures up to the standards of the International Rowing Federation. For the record, rowing and canoeing are included in the Kazan Universiade programme.

Aside of RT experts being present, a number of representatives of the International Rowing Federation and the Russian Rowing Federation also partook in the discussion. When the Universiade has wrapped up, the rowing channel will be used in the capacity of a center for training Russian national teams for the Olympic Games, student team training and will be able to host major competitions of the highest level.
