Two collections of works on the history of Turkic peoples presented in Kazan

On March 16, 2010, two collections of works of unique value were presented as part of the scientific conference “Historical Geography and Socio-Cultural Development of the Medieval Turkic-Tatar States” (the 15th – second third of the 18th century). The editions contain rare information on the history of both our region and Eastern Europe.

The collection of works called “Medieval and Early Modern Eastern Europe Through the Eyes of French Scientists” comprises a wide range of articles written by prominent French scientists; all focusing on the history of the relations of the Turkic and Mongolian peoples of Eastern Europe and the Russian Nation with the countries of the East in the 15-18 centuries.

The second collection of works “Documents on the History of the Volga-Ural region in the 16-19 centuries recovered from Turkish ancient archives” contains the texts and translations of rare documents written in Turkey, Tatar and Arabic; most of the material presented being published in Russia for the first time.
