The Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, conducted a meeting of the Governmental Commission on Regional Development in Ufa, Bashkortostan, Russia on February 8. The main issue on the agenda was the development of information technologies in the Russian regions. Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev attended the meeting.
After the meeting, Mintimer Shaimiev told journalists that the participants of the meeting focused on the very important issue of information technologies in providing regional and municipal government services to the people. With information communication technologies people’s going to through multiple offices to get basic papers can be avoided. Without leaving home, it will be possible to get necessary certificates, documents to pay bills, etc.
”The RF Government is actively introducing information technologies… It is of extreme importance and should be high on the list when assessing public bodies performance at both the federal and regional levels,” Mintimer Shaimiev declared.
