Tatarstan President has met with OIC Assistant Secretary General Abdullah Alem

Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev met with Abdullah Alem, the Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference at the Kazan Kremlin on December 26.

Greeting the important guest, the President of Tatarstan expressed gratitude for the attention to the Republic of Tatarstan. “Your visit is the display of great consideration towards and liking for our people. We appreciate this good relationship. And it makes us happy that our contacts develop each year,” Mintimer Shaimiev said.

Mr. Alem thanked Mintimer Shaimiev for a warm reception and conveyed sincere wishes of well-being from OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu.

Further development of cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Organization of the Islamic Conference was in the focus at the meeting.

Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation in the OIC Kamil Iskhakov, State Advisor to the RT President in international issues Timur Akulov also took part in the meeting.
