A new unique display called “Precious Designs. Gold in Arts and Crafts” will after mid next year arrive in Kazan. The display will be quartered at the Tatarstan Pictorial Art Museum, told Tatar-inform the museum’s director Rozalia Nurgaleyeva who not long ago returned from a trip to Kirov.

The exhibition opened in Kirov a short while ago and has collected excellent reviews. The 137 unique exhibits include outstanding art works from the 14th to 20th centuries, created in Russia, Europe and Asia. The most ancient artefact is a parchment sheet from a unique 14th-century choir book from Italy. The youngest exhibits are a grace cup and a scoop made with use of plique-a-jour enamel in the 20th century 80es in Moscow.

According to Rozalia Nurgaleyeva, the exhibition is to travel to several more cities after Kirov, the last of which will be Omsk. The museum’s director has made an arrangement for the collection to come to the Tatarstan’c capital. “We have not had a display like this. It is however very advantageous for provincial museums: they come together and pay transportation expenses,” she said.

The collection’s insurance cost is over 4 million euros. The information is available at a news website in Kirov, davecha.ru.
