Mintimer Shaimiev becomes laureate of the prize of International festival “Let’s do sports all together”

Presentation of awards of the International festival “Let’s do sports all together” was held at the State Theatre of Film Actor in Moscow. Bronze angel statuettes were handed over to laureates, participants of important events, who committed heroic deeds to protect honour and dignity of people and state using their sports skills, actively promoted sport in different spheres of state and public activity and got most positive review in mass media.

The award was handed to the first President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev for preventing escalation of violence in solving problems with Crimean Tatars during annexation of Crimea by Russia.

A historian, politician and public figure, member of Russian Public Chamber Veronika Krashennikova, journalist and writer Mikhail Shakhnazarov, professional MMA fighter Alexander Oleynik and actor Mikhail Porechinkov were invited to the stage to present the award.

The award was received by Tatarstan plenipotentiary in Russia Ravil Akhmetshin.

Master of the ceremony, journalist Boris Korchevnikov read out the telegram sent from Mintimer Shaimiev to the President of the National award and festival “Let’s do sports all together” Alexander Inshakov:

“From the bottom of my heart I express my gratitude to you and all organizers of the festival for paid attention and presentation of this independent award. You undertook a very important task on promoting high principles of elite sport in our life. I am sure that the festival will help promoting sport and patriotic education, and increase civic consciousness in each of us.”

According to Inshakov, the award was presented to Mintimer Shaimiev for being a real patriot of his country, protecting interests of the Republic of Tatarstan and the whole country in the international arena, a person with strong will, wisdom and justice in solving most complicated state matters including relations with Crimean Tatars.

The international festival “Let’s do sports all together” has been held twice in Taganrog (Rostov region) in 2012 and 2013 and became an important event in our country. The festival motto is “Power on guard of good”.
