Mintimer Shaimiev holds meeting on creating exposition dedicated to Turkic-Tatar writing in Bolgar

On December 22, Tatarstan State Counsellor and Chairman of the Board of Guardians of “Revival” Foundation Mintimer Shaimiev held a meeting on creating exposition dedicated to history of Turkic-Tatar writing in Bolgar.

The concept of the exposition was discussed and approved at the meeting on October 29 and it will include the history of Turkic-Tatar writing of the following periods beginning from the 6th century, - Old Turkic, Volga-Kama Bulgaria and the Golden Horde, Kazan, Crimean, Astrakhan, Siberian and Kasimov khanates, and 18th - the beginning of 20th centuries.

Mintimer Shaimiev said that creation of the exposition is underway and since Bolgar historical and archeological complex is the UNESCO heritage site it should be approved by UNESCO World Heritage Center.

The architectural projects of the exposition were presented by an architect, film director, producer, and members of the Russian filmmakers union Enver Gabdrakhmanov and sculptors Vladimir Demchenko and Asiya Minnullina.

CEO of “Revival” Foundation Tatyana Larionova, Director General of Tatinvestgrazhdanproekt Adel Khusnutdinov, Minister of culture Airat Sibagatullin, Director of Mardzhani institute of history Rafael Khakimov, Head of Spassky region Kamil Nugaev, Director of G.Ibragimov Institute of language, literature and art Kim Minnullin, Director of A.A.Khalikov Institute of archeology Airat Sitdikov, Director of the Institute of international relations, history and oriental studies Ramil Khairutdinov, and Chairman of Tatarstan State Committee on Tourism Sergey Ivanov took part in the event.
