Super final of Russian chess championship to be held in Kazan

On October 21, at his meeting with Tatarstan State Counsellor, member of the Board of Guardians of Russian Chess Federation Mintimer Shaimiev, Board Chairman of Russian Chess Federation, a member of organizing committee of the Super final Mark Glukhovsky told about holding women’s and men’s Russian chess championship in Kazan on November 27 - December 7.

The championship is organized by Russian Chess Federation, Charity Foundation of Elena and Gennady Timchenko under the auspices of Tatarstan Government.

The championship will be held pending the programme “Chess in museums” that started with the match in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow in 2012 by initiative of businessmen Andrey Filatov and Gennady Timchenko. The next championship was held in Nizhny Novgorod state historical-architectural museum reserve.

In Kazan the event will be held at Hazine art gallery at State museum of fine arts of the Republic of Tatarstan on the territory of the Kazan Kremlin.

The opening and closing ceremonies will be held on November 27 and December 7 at Kazan City Hall.

Issues of organization and holding of the Super final were discussed at the meeting.

Mark Glukhovsky thanked Mintimer Shaimiev for supporting the idea of holding the championship in Kazan.

Deputy Board Chairman of Russian Chess Federation Yana Sidorchuk, Deputy Director General of Charity Foundation of Elena and Gennady Timchenko Igor Baradachev, Tatarstan Minister of Culture Airat Sibagatullin, First Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs and Sport Khalil Shaikhutdinov, President of Tatarstan Chess Federation Gennady Zakharov, Director of Kazan Kremlin museum reserve Zilya Valeeva, Director of State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan Rozaliya Nurgaleeva, Deputy Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administrative Office -Head of Secretariat of Tatarstan State Counsellor Oleg Glebov took part in the meeting.
