Mintimer Shaimiev takes part in session of Tatarstan State Council

On October 1, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the first session of Tatarstan State Council of the 5th convocation.

After the elections held on September 14, the deputy corps renewed, two political parties - “United Russia” and Communist Party of the Russian Federation entered the parliament. The Liberal Democratic Party of Russia is represented in the highest legislative body for the first time.

In accordance with the article 73 of the Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan, before the parliament chairman was elected the sessions had been held by Marat Galeev as he is the oldest deputy of State Council.

15 organizational issues were on the agenda.

By majority of votes Farid Mukhametshin was elected Chairman of Tatarstan State Council. 88 deputies supported his candidature.

Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated Farid Mukhametshin on election on the senior position and wished everyone good luck.

“I have no doubts that your work will be aimed at constructive development of the republic. I have always said that Tatarstan achievements consist in well-coordinated work of all authorities. Let us make our republic the best!,” he said.

Deputies of the Chairman of Tatarstan State Council, Secretary of the Parliament were elected, Parliament committees and commissions were formed, and a member of the Federation Council of - representative of Tatarstan State Council Ildus Akhmetzyanov was vested with authorities.

Issues connected with staff changes were also discussed at the session.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, members of the Government and guests took part in the session.
