The rare book about the medieval views of the Cosmos was granted to the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan by the Oxford University.
The National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan received as a present from the Oxford University (Great Britain) the rare book about the medieval views of the Cosmos, including Muslim views. The book was presented by the executive secretary of the Oxford University Library Michael Henie that visited National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Medieval Views of the Cosmos describe the world understanding that was accessible to medieval Islamic and Christian societies in which there was much more agreement than the differences.
On 20 January Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev got a phone call from Russian President Vladimir Putin who congratulated him with his 88th birthday.

On December 9, the State Counselor of Tatarstan, the Hero of Labour of Russia Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated Tatarstan residents on the Heroes of the Fatherland Day.
