Asgat Safarov: “The Day of Militia is the people's holiday”

The Day of Militia is today marked in Russia.
On this remarkable occasion, a solemn parade has today taken place at the Interior Ministry parade ground, attended by Tatarstan State Council deputy chairman Alexander Gusev, Interior Minister Asgat Safarov, as well as Interior Ministry senior officers, personnel and veterans.
In his welcoming remarks, Alexander Gusev greeted the Interior Ministry staff on behalf of Tatarstan President, Chairman of the State Council and Prime Minister.
Asgat Safarov solemnly presented state and departmental awards to distinguished interior officers. Pursuant to a decree of President of Tatarstan, 11 officers were awarded, another 300 were dignified pursuant to a Tatarstan Interior Ministry order.
Later, the solemn ceremony attendees laid flowers to the monument to officers killed in the line of duty.
On 20 January Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev got a phone call from Russian President Vladimir Putin who congratulated him with his 88th birthday.
Today numerous congratulatory telegrammes are coming from heads of states, regions and republics, representatives of the society, science, education , residents of the country and Tatarstan.
On 28 December the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov handed in the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev the Letter of Appreciation from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On 20 December at his meeting with the Director General of the Grid Company of the republic Ilshat Fairdieyv in the Kazan Kremlin on the eve of the Day of the Energy Worker, Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated him not only with the holiday but also with 25th years of his work in the energy system of the republic.
On December 9, the State Counselor of Tatarstan, the Hero of Labour of Russia Mintimer Shaimiev congratulated Tatarstan residents on the Heroes of the Fatherland Day.
