Lean Production business forum to be held in Tatarstan

The Trade and Industry Chamber of Naberezhnye Chelny and the Transkama region will jointly with Kamaz on November 12-13 hold a forum called “Lean Production: Principles, Instruments, Experience”. The forum is sponsored by the Russian Trade and Industry Chamber with the support of the Tatarstan Trade and Industry Chamber, Mayor’s Offices of Naberezhnye Chelny and Yelabuga, reports the Tatarstan TIC’s press service.

Lean Production is a modern system allowing to eliminate non-production costs and increase productivity manifold. Companies applying the “lean production” principles and instruments with minimal investments achieve an increase in productivity of 35-70 percent, reduction in production cycle of 25-90 percent, quality improvement of 40 percent, decrease in faulty products output of 58-90 percent and economy of 10 percent of annual sales.

The purpose of the forum is to provide company executives and businessmen with advanced concepts and development strategies for production systems, to demonstrate possibilities to increase the efficiency of the main, auxiliary and management processes and to discuss models and devise proposals for wider distribution of the lean production practice.

The forum’s co-organisers are the Tatarstan Industry and Trade Ministry and the Kamaz auto maker. Within the event, an industrial show, 2009 advertisement festival, the 3rd Russian festival of art, crafts and applied decorative work Live Tradition, dedicated to the Naberezhnye Chenly Trade and Industry Chamber’s 15th anniversary, will take place.

Company executives and leading specialists, production, personnel, economy, quality, logistics, as well as technical and commercial directors, chief engineers and heads at Tatarstan-based enterprises are invited to attend the forum.
