Kazan is ready to host the world track-and-field junior championship among the

Marat Bariev also said that the President of the International Athletics Associations Federation (IAAF) made a proposal to hold the 14th world championship in Kazan during his visit to our capital.
The world championship among juniors is held once in two years. It will take place for the 13th time in 2010 in Monkton, Canada.
According to Mr. Bariev, the IAAF head offered to establish an athletics centre in Kazan under the aegis of the leading international sports organization. There are only 9 IAAF regional centres of track-and-field development in the world and one of them is situated in Moscow.

On 16 October in the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaymiev, who is also the Chairman of the Trustees Council of the regional Revival Fund, had a meeting with the Director General of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, who came to Kazan to take part in a ceremony of opening a new exposition “The Yusupovs. Luxury across the Centuries” at the Hermitage Kazan Exposition Center and which has been prepared especially for the 20th anniversary of the Hermitage’s first representational centre established in 2005 by celebrations of the Kazan Millennium.
