Tatarstan Prime Minister: I hope ‘Russia - Country Sports’ will return to Kazan

At the final plenary session of the First All-Russia Sports Forum ‘Russia - Country of Sports’ on October 24, Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the participants and guests and expressed hope that the forum would return to Kazan.

From Rustam Minnikhanov’s point of view, the forum “Russia - Country of Sports” is a unique, new event in Russia. It provided field for discussions on lots of topical issues in the dialogue of authorities and business: both physical culture at schools and elite sports.

“At the forum, we tried to show everything that is done in the republic in the field of physical culture development and sport and as part of preparation for the Universiade-2013,” Tatarstan Ministry of Youth, Sport and Tourism press-service quotes Rustam Minnikhanov as saying. “At present, Russia is preparing to host the Universiade in Kazan and the Olympics in Sochi. I hope we will be able to win the bid for hosting the world football championship.”

Tatarstan Prime Minister thanked the forum guests for visiting Kazan. “I believe the forum has become a significant event for Tatarstan, that’s why I hope it will return to Kazan some day,” he noted.
