‘Russia – Country of Sports’ to bring together representatives of 11 international federations

The First All-Russia Sport Forum ‘Russia – Country of Sports’ will bring together leading sportsmen from all around the world in Kazan.
Delegations of IOC, WADA and FISU will arrived in Kazan. The FISU delegation will be headed by Vice-President Stefan Berg, Secretary General Erik Saintrond, President of the European University Sports Association Albert Gualtieri.
Presidents of international federations and association of tennis (Francesco Ricci Bitti), boxing (Wo Ching-Kuo), field hockey (Leonardo Negre), canoe (Jose Perurena Lopez), fencing (Alisher Usmanov) and rugby (Mike Miller) will come. Delegations of the International Amateur Athletics Federations, federations of gymnastics, taekwon-do, European Weight-Lifting Federation will take part in the forum work. Representatives of 11 international sport federations are expected to participate in the forum, Tatarstan Ministry of Youth, Sport and Tourism informs.
Experts in sport medicine – one of Russian sports’ most topical issues – IOC Medical and Scientific Directo Patrick Pierre Schamasch, Cyprus Anti-Doping Organization President Michael Petrow will be in Kazan during the forum. Other distinguished official guests include Council of Europe Youth and Sport Affairs Ralf-Rene Veingartner, representative of Association of International Olympic Federations in summer sport Denis Osvald and President of the International Sport Press Association Gianni Merlo who will participate in a roundtable discussion “Propaganda of sport and healthy lifestyle”.
On 20 January in the evening Russian President Vladimir Putin called Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev and congratulated him with his birthday. During the conversation Vladimir Putin stated that he is happy to hear bright voice of Mintimer (Sharipovich) and wished him good health and all the best.
On 20 January, congratulating Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev with his birthday, the Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin wrote in his telegramme: “Being a famous and political leader, you have made a substantial contribution into modern development of Tatarstan and have earned the deep respect and gratitude of residents of the republic.
On January 20, the First President of Tatarstan, State Counsellor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev celebrates its 89 birthday.
He received numerous congratulations from the state and regional leaders, public figures, figures in science, education and culture and residents of the country and Tatarstan.
On 16 October in the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaymiev, who is also the Chairman of the Trustees Council of the regional Revival Fund, had a meeting with the Director General of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, who came to Kazan to take part in a ceremony of opening a new exposition “The Yusupovs. Luxury across the Centuries” at the Hermitage Kazan Exposition Center and which has been prepared especially for the 20th anniversary of the Hermitage’s first representational centre established in 2005 by celebrations of the Kazan Millennium.
