The “Sustained development of Russian cities” forum to open in Yelabuga

The III International economic forum “Sustained development of Russian cities” with participation of European Conference of Ministers’ specialists responsible for regional and space planning will be opened tomorrow in Yelabuga.

The forum is organized by the Russian Federation Ministry of Regional Development, the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers, the Yelabuga Municipal Regions and City Council. The experts in urban areas, in elaboration and realization of the cities’ development strategies, the improvement of city communities and municipal management specialists, the practicing city managers from different countries, mayors and parliamentarians from the cities of Russia and other countries will take part in this forum.

The participants are going to discuss several issues concerning the city community and modern city strategies, the development specifics of territories where the large-scale federal projects are realized.

The problems of the cities and territories sustained development mechanisms will be considered at the forum’s plenary session. The following roundtable discussions will be organized: “The policy of Russia in sustained development of cities and territories”, “The Volga Federal Region socio-economic development strategy until 2020”, “The experience of Europe in the development of cities and territories during the period of globalization”, “The effective local community: city of citizens and territory of solidarity”, “The preservation of historical, cultural and natural heritage is the key factor of tourism development on the municipal formations’ territories”, etc.
