President Shaimiev has congratulated workers of agriculture and processing industry

An event with participation of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev dedicated to the Day of Workers of Agriculture and Processing Industry took place at the Korston Hotel on October 8. Before the opening of the event, grain growers from the Aktanysh district, Tatarstan who are among the republican leaders in terms of harvest having gathered 181 tonnes of grain this year presented Mintimer Shaimiev with a traditional round loaf. The head of Tatarstan also reviewed an exhibition of agricultural products of the largest agricultural companies of the republic.

Mintimer Shaimiev said that this agricultural year was particularly difficult for villagers. “You worked in the environment of the double crisis – financial instability and the hardest draught over the last 10 years. Your skills, patience and perseverance have won. The crisis didn’t become an insuperable obstacle for the effective work of our villagers. Though the outcome of this year is not as great as the year before, the villagers did their best for it to be successful. The determining factors in this regard were efficient use of all arable lands and total livestock, introduction of resource-saving, innovative technologies, use of highly productive machines and higher business activity of the rural population as well as the development of small-sized enterprises.”

According to Mintimer Shaimiev, consistency in these developments allowed the republic to strengthen its role of the largest agricultural producer in the Russian Federation.
