Tatarstan Prime Minister: Singapore is of interest to Tatarstan

The Republic of Tatarstan delegation headed by RT Cabinet of Ministers’ head Rustam Minnikhanov participates in the fourth Russia-Singapore business forum (September 27-29, 2009).

“The Republic of Tatarstan has made a considerable progress in realizing the project “Electronic Government”. Taking into account progressing partnership with Singapore, we may be among the leaders in this field,” Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov stated on September 28 in Singapore commenting on the signed Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Tatarstan and IDA International company (Singapore), RT Cabinet of Ministers’ press-service informs.

The document stipulates cooperation in developing “Electronic Government” project, implementation of public services in electronic format.

Tatarstan Premier Rustam Minnikhanov indicated that Russia President Dmitry Medvedev sets the same task at present – development of info-communicational technologies, “Electronic Government” project.

Rustam Minnikhanov informed that the memorandum had been signed in the presence of Russia Government First Deputy Chairman Igor Shuvalov. Regarding the agreement on interaction and cooperation between Tatarstan Government and Civil Service College of Singapore, this document stipulates partnership in the field of education.

Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that Singapore experience in public administration is the most advanced in the world and that the Republic of Tatarstan was going to adopt and implement it.

Tatarstan Government head also held meetings with Singapore Minister of National Development Ma Bow Tan. Tatarstan Presidential Apparatus head Yury Kamaltynov, Tatarstan Economy Minister Marat Safioullin, President of JSC “Rossiyskiye Zhelezniye Dorogi” (“Russian Railroads”) Vladimir Yakunin took part in the meeting.

According to Rustam Minnikhanov’s words, today Tatarstan delegation plans to hold numerous business meetings and sign one more agreement on cooperation in the field of education.
