The 7th exhibition from the State Hermitage museum collection will open in Kazan in April 2010, State Hermitage Deputy Director Vladimir Matveyev said on Tuesday. He came to Kazan to take part in opening of the exhibition 'The Children of Gods'.

Vladimir Matveyev told a press-conference that the exhibition 'The Children of Gods. Antic Heroes in Ancient and Modern Art' will be available at the Hermitage – Kazan centre until March 28, 2010. The 7th joint project of the State Hermitage and the Hermitage – Kazan centre (a unique centre in Russia) will be organized after that. According to Matveyev, an exhibition of French art of 17th-18th centuries from the Hermitage collection will open in April 2010.

Director of the Kazan Kremlin State Historical-Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve Ramil Khairutdiov informed that collaboration plans include the year of 2013. It is not surprising because exhibitions at the Hermitage – Kazan centre are very popular among public. Over 300 thousand people have attended the centre’s exhibitions over 4 years.

Vladimir Matveyev pointed out that Kazan public is good, but youth does not attend museums a lot.
