The researchers of Leo Tolstoy works will gather in Kazan

The conference, devoted to the memory of Leo Nikolayevich Tolstoy will take place in Kazan from the 5th till the 9th of October. Last year it was the 180th birthday of this outstanding Russian writer and in 2010 it will be 100 years since his death.
The leading researchers from Moscow, Vyatka, Yasnaya Polyana plan to arrive in our city. In addition to the scientific breakup groups’ work, there will be a presentation of special films about the writer.
The round table discussion of the Leo Tolstoy exposition opening problems will rank first among all the activities of the forthcoming conference.
On 28 August the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev took part in a plenary session of the National Assembly of the World Tatar Congress held with participation of about 1 thousand delegates from 68 regions of Russia and 27 foreign countries in the Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan’
On 20 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev attended horse races held at the International Equestrian Complex in Kazan and dedicated to Kazan Sabantuy.
On 6 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev laid flowers to the monument of the Great Russian poet Aleksandr Pushkin by the Jalil State Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan.
On 9 May the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev, the Chairman of the state Council of the republic Farid Mukhametshin, the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin took part in a solemn ceremony of laying flowers to the Eternal flame in the Victory Park in Kazan.
