Alexander Zhukov heads Organizing committee of “Russia – Sport Power” forum

The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin approved the member list of the Organizing committee for preparation and organization of the First All-Russian sport forum “Russia – Sport Power”, which will be held in Kazan on October 22-25 in Kazan.
Chairman of the committee will be Vice-Premier, President of Russian Chess Federation Alexander Zhukov. His deputies are Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev, Russia Minister of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy Vitaly Mutko, First Vice-Premier of Russian Olympic Committee, president of All-Russian Association of Summer Olympic Sport Sergei Bogdanchikov, deputy head of the Russian Federation President’s Board for Maintaining Work of the State Council, secretary of the Olympic Council under RF President Alexei Kulakovsky.
Tatarstan is also represented by the following officials: Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Minister for Youth Affairs, Sport and Tourism Marat Bariev, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Tatneft company Director General Shafagat Takhautdinov. Other members include federal ministers o culture, science and education, internal affairs, famous sportsmen, businessmen, members of the Council under RF President for Development of physical culture and sport, elite sport, preparation and organization of XXII Winter Olympics and XI Winter Paralympics of 2014 in Sochi, XXVI World Summer Universiade of 2013 in Kazan.
The first All-Russian international sport forum “Russia – Sport Power” will be held on October 22-25 in Kazan. Russia President Dmitry Medvedev is expected to participate in the solemn opening ceremony.
The forum programme includes such events as international sport congress, roundtable discussions and discussion clubs, exhibitions, festival of sport cinema. A session of the Council under RF President for Development of physical culture and sport, elite sport, preparation and organization of XXII Winter Olympics and XI Winter Paralympics of 2014 in Sochi, XXVI World Summer Universiade of 2013 in Kazan will take place on October 23; it will focus on the issues of government assistance to children and youth sport.
On 20 January in the evening Russian President Vladimir Putin called Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev and congratulated him with his birthday. During the conversation Vladimir Putin stated that he is happy to hear bright voice of Mintimer (Sharipovich) and wished him good health and all the best.
On 20 January, congratulating Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev with his birthday, the Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Mishustin wrote in his telegramme: “Being a famous and political leader, you have made a substantial contribution into modern development of Tatarstan and have earned the deep respect and gratitude of residents of the republic.
On January 20, the First President of Tatarstan, State Counsellor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev celebrates its 89 birthday.
He received numerous congratulations from the state and regional leaders, public figures, figures in science, education and culture and residents of the country and Tatarstan.
On 16 October in the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaymiev, who is also the Chairman of the Trustees Council of the regional Revival Fund, had a meeting with the Director General of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, who came to Kazan to take part in a ceremony of opening a new exposition “The Yusupovs. Luxury across the Centuries” at the Hermitage Kazan Exposition Center and which has been prepared especially for the 20th anniversary of the Hermitage’s first representational centre established in 2005 by celebrations of the Kazan Millennium.
