Kazan adopts Belgrade experience in Universiade-2013 village construction

Barcelona chief architect Jose Asebillo and mayor of Belville – the Universiade-2009 village in Belgrade Ranko Tarasevich are in Kazan these days with the purpose to hold consultations.

Well-known architect Jose Asebillo designs the so-called “public zone” (the first floors) of the Universiade-2013 village in Kazan.

Mayor of the Games-2009 village Ranko Tarasevich have held consultations of the Universiade village public zones design, internal logistics, road junctions. He also shared the specifics of sport complexes design, for instance, Water Sports Palace.

Ranko Tarasevich is a former famous sportsman, participant of the Universiade in Beijing. Today he has told about his impressions from Kazan and preparation for the Games-2013. “I came to Kazan with the purpose to share experience of the Universiade organization in Belgrade. I hope joined efforts will help us hold the Games at the highest level,” he said.

According to words of the Universiade-2009 village mayor, several very good sport objects have been constructed in Kazan 4 years before the competitions. Ranko Tarasevich had a chance to examine some of the objects and assessed the preliminary design of Water Sports Palace.

One of the key issues to discuss was the project of the Universiade village which is expected to receive about 15 thousand guests in 2013. Ranko Tarasevich highly evaluated the team of architects who will work on the Games village in Kazan.

Ranko Tarasevich plans to continue collaboration with the Universiade-2013 directorate and will pay visits to Tatarstan capital in the future.
