Vladimir Chagin – winner of 6th lap at Silk Road rally

KAMAZ-Master team crew led by Vladimir Chagin won in the 6th lap of Silk Road-2009 rally-raid. KAMAZ truck number 204 covered the 514 kilometres long special stage in 5 hours 29 minutes.

Vladimir Chagin who lost 3 hours due to a damage yesterday showed that he was not going to give up. He demonstrated that he was going to continue the struggle at least at each stage. The five-time Dakar champion left his team-fellow Firdaus Kabirov 27 minutes behind. Gerard de Roy was the third with 33 minutes underrun.

In overall rating Chagin is behind Kabirov by 2 hours 36 minutes. Firdaus Kabirov strengthened his leadership – now he is 35 minutes ahead of Gerard de Roy. Ilgizar Mardeev (KAMAZ) is the third being 37 minutes behind the leader.
