Firdaus Kabirov celebrates victory on Silk Road fourth lap

The current winner of Dakar marathon among trucks, pilot of KAMAZ-Master team Firdaus Kabirov won the fourth lap of Silk Road rally-raid. He now is on the second place in the overall rating and approached close to the leader – Vladimir Chagin.

The first laps of Silk Road rally-raid demonstrated high speed of leading truck crews. Leaders of T4 class outpaced most of SUVs. The first of trucks to start was the overall rating leader Vladimir Chagin, then Dutch Gerard de Roy started on IVECO 6 minutes later. Firdaus Kabirov’s KAMAZ departed 8 minutes after that.

De Roy caught up Chagin at the first check point. At the second check line IVECO and KAMAZ came together, but they also were accompanied by Firdaus Kabirov who caught up.

By the finish of the rally special part, De Roy conceded to Kabirov and demonstrated the third result with underrun of 17 minutes. Dakar-2009 champion won back 4 more minutes comparing to his team-fellow – Chagin lost 10 minutes to Kabirov today, but remains the leader in the overall rating.

The time difference between the two KAMAZ-Master crews now is 2 minutes and a half. De Roy is on the third place, 9 minutes behind Chagin.
