Golden Minbar to feature 32 films in competition programme

The 5th Muslim film festival Golden Minbar’s selection commission has completed its work. It has held a final meeting, where a competition and out-of-competition programme were defined. The cinematic event will be held between September 30 and October 4 in Kazan.

A total of over 500 films from 62 countries have been sent in, including from Russia, the US, Slovenia, Lebanon, Turkey, Iran, Mali, Guinea, Austria, Congo, Romania, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and others. The selection commission is headed by the cinema expert Hans-Joachim Schlegel from Germany. A total of 34 films have been selected for the competition programmes: 12 full-length films, 14 documentaries and 8 short-length films.

The out-of-competition shows include 22 films, to be demonstrated within special programmes called The Day of Tatar Cinema, The Day of Caucasus Cinema and International Panorama.
