Defence executives in Tatarstan hold meeting

Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov has held a working meeting with heads of the industrial defence firms based in Tatarstan. The meeting reviewed the course of implementation of the minutes of meeting attended by Russian deputy industry and trade minister Denis Manturov, held in Kazan early this year.

The meeting was attended by the advisor to the prime minister Nazir Kireyev, president of the regional Association of Businesses and Undertakers Alexander Lavrentiev and first deputy minister of industry and trade Vladimir Soloviev.

On 20 March this year, the Prime Minister of Tatarstan Roustam Minnikhanov and deputy minister of industry and trade of Russia Denis Manturov held a visiting session at the premises of KAPO Gorbunova aircraft manufacturer with the heads of Tatarstan defence companies. The meeting discussed measures of state support for the local defence sector. The meeting’s participants examined the course of implementing state defence orders, companies’ financial and economic condition, issues related to loaning the military industrial complex amid the ongoing global economic crisis.

The meeting in March signed a list of instructions which implementation was examined at Industry and Trade Ministry. In accordance with the instructions, companies in Tatarstan applied for participating in some federal target programmes.

The meeting reviewed issues related to paying subsidies recompensing part of companies’s expenses related to paying back loan interest. Other issues pertaining to the industrial defence complex were examined as well.

Tatarstan Industry and Trade Minister Ravil Zaripov told the defence executives that the Russian deputy minister of industry and trade Denis Manturov would shortly hold a meeting in Moscow, focusing on the course of implementing the March meeting’s decisions.
