Russia Industry and Trade Ministry has approved the Tatarstan’s request for additional financing, for industrial enterprises to take part in the regional programme aimed to reduce tensions on the job market.

The interdepartmental task force for implementing measures aimed to reduce tensions on the job market in the Russian regions has at a session reviewed amendments to Tatarstan’s current regional programme.

According to the programme, additional funds are to be allocated to finance creation of temporary jobs at industrial companies.

“The decision is within the ministry’s logic in regards to saving effective jobs at high-technology companies. As a result of the amendments, the decision has been made to allocate over 270 million roubles for Kamaz, to be used to create temporary workplaces, besides the 254 million approved early this year. The state’s total subsidies aimed to support employment at the city’s key company in Naberezhnye Chelny will therefore exceed half a million roubles. The step is preemptive and should allow maintain the current rate of employment and incomes for 16,845 people,” commented Russia deputy minister of industry and trade Stanislav Naumov.

The plant has recently had a 4-day working week and operated in 2 shifts. The measure has allowed the management to not halt the production run and save the team, which is the main task of the auto plant’s welfare policy, say the Russian ministry at the website.
