Kazan to speak foreign languages before Universiade 2013

Tatarstan has set to preparing for the Universiade 2013 sporting event. The Tatarstan Labour, Employment and Social Security Minister Airat Shafigullin yesterday held a meeting on the matter.

Kazan needs qualified managers, supervisors, engineers and sports facilities administrators, as well as service personnel, including drivers, waiters, bartenders, maids, cashiers and information desk operators. Besides, media specialists for Universiade 2013 official website management and ones engaged in the public information and nformation technologies service, as well as security specialists are required. The main requirement for those to be involved in the large-scale event is knowledge of foreign languages.

According to the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security of Tatarstan, the meeting’s participants filled out forms on each of the industries’s staff demands related to Universiade. The main tasks for educational institutions that were instructed to expand the list of professions and specialities that can be received in Tatarstan, introduce intensive language courses and increase the number of hours for studying them were defined.
