President of Tatarstan made a working trip to south-eastern districts of the Republic

On 28 July, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev made a working trip to Sarmanovo and Aznakaevo districts of the Republic to inspect the progress of field harvest operations. In the trip, he was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov.

In the Sarmanovo District, the head of the Republic examined fields of rye, peas, and sugar beet. This year the crop yield will be less because of the droughts. At the meeting with heads of farms and executives of rural settlements Mintimer Shaimiev noted that this year the grain output will be about 3 MT per hectare whereas last year it was 4,5 MT. However, this is also a very good indicator given the fact that there were no precipitations for about 2 months.

In the second half of the day Mintimer Shaimiev examined the progress of harvest operations in the Aznakaevo District.
