First Universiade-2013 object to be put into operation on Day of Republic

Five Greenfield projects of the Universiade-2013 will be put into operation this year. Tatarstan Minister on Youth Affairs, Sport and Tourism Marat Bariev informed about this at a press conference at the Republican Agency for press and mass communication Tatmedia.

According to the minister’s words, 64 sport objects will be used during the Universiade in Kazan; 28 of them have already been constructed. As expected, Ice Palace on Mavlyutov St will be put into operation on Day of the Republic (August 30). The main investor of the project is Tatneft company. The direct customer is Tatneft-Ak Bars enterprise. This sport complex was designed taking into consideration its possible use during the Universiade-2013. The grandstands with capacity for 100 people, 5 changing rooms, 12.5 m high ceiling provide an opportunity to hold volleyball tournament group stage games there.

According to Marat Bariev’s words, the Tennis Academy is expected to be finished by October of the current year. Construction of Single Combat Palace, Trap-Shooting Complex, a sport complex at Kazan State University of Culture and Arts will be completed by the end of the year.
