Farid Mukhametshin meets Azerbaijan Minister of Culture and Tourism

Azerbaijan Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Karaev visited Tatarstan State Council on July 3 in the context of Days of Azerbaijan Culture in Tatarstan.

The Minister met with Tatarstan State Council Chairman Farid Moukhametshin. The parliament speaker thanked Azerbaijan authorities on behalf of Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev for the decision to organize Days of Azerbaijan Culture in Tatarstan. He expressed hope that the opportunity to get acquainted with customs and traditions of Azerbaijan nation would contribute to consolidation of relations between the republics.

Azerbaijan Minister of Tourism and Culture said that organization of Azerbaijan Culture Days in Tatarstan evoked great interest amid mass media.

Abulfas Karaev expressed gratitude for supporting Azerbaijan diaspora in Tatarstan. He pointed out the unique example of good neighborhood and synthesis of different national culture, which is maintained thanks to works of the Assembly of Tatarstan Peoples.

Moreover, Azerbaijan Minister of Culture and Tourism thanked Farid Moukhametshin for participation in the International conference of culture ministers “Inter-cultural dialogue as basis of peace and stable development in Europe and neighboring regions” in December 2008. He invited Farid Moukhametshin to continue dialogue within the framework of analogical events with participation of Islamic states representatives.
