19 athletes from Tatarstan in Russia’s student team at Universiade

Russian national student team takes part in the World Student Games in Belgrade, which starts on July 1. It includes 19 representatives from Tatarstan.

The team numbers 470 people – sportsmen, officials, coaches and medical staff.

The athletes will defend the honour of Tatarstan in Belgrade. These are basketball players Evgeny Voronov and Alexei Zhukanenko, water polo players Konstantin Stepanyuk, Pavel Katkov and Artyom Odintsov, swimmer Alexander Shimin, fencers Ramil Gaisin, Irina Radayeva and Kamilla Gafurzyanova (latter one in reserve), track-and-field athletes Nadezhda Sozntova (4x400 relay), Tatiana Shutova (10 kilometres), Olga Zainutdinova (overall), Aidar Gilyazov (110 metres), Yulia Borodovitsyna (long jump, in reserve), tennis player Ksenia Lykina and judoist Yekaterina Yelizarova.

The national team includes Zenit Kazan football club’s massage therapist Ramis Shiriyazdanov, fencing coach Irina Radayeva and the delegation staff member Alexander Kuznetsov.

Universiade in Belgrade will run from July 1 to 12.
