Mintimer Shaimiev: Establishing the truth is a complex task

A two-day enlarged meeting of the board of the Investigation committee under the RF Prosecutor General’s Office opened in Kazan on June 25. RT President Mintimer Shaimiev and RF First Deputy Prosecutor General – Chairman of the Investigation committee under the RF Prosecutor General’s Office Aleksandr Bastrykin are taking part in the work of the board.

The members of the board are to discuss the results of the work over the first six months of 2009 and issues related to enhancing efficiency of counteracting corruption and misappropriation.

The federal level event apart from RT leadership and chiefs of the republican law-enforcement agencies is also attended by RF Deputy Prosecutor General Ernest Valeyev, heads of investigation directorates of Russian regions.

Greeting the participants of the meeting, Mintimer Shaimiev said that the new system of the of the Investigation committee under the RF Prosecutor General’s Office founded in 2007 functions with confidence interacting with other law-enforcement agencies and state bodies. “Crimes investigated by investigators of your committee are the most socially-dangerous and draw a wide social response which lays even higher responsibility for the outcome of your work. Establishing the truth is a complex task requiring great professional skills and experience,” the head of Tatarstan said speaking at the meeting.
