Ibis Kazan Hotel opens in Tatarstan capital

The first hotel of the international brand ‘Ibis’ in Tatarstan opened in Kazan down town – on Pravobulachnaya Street on Saturday June 20. Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic in the Russian Federation Jean de Gliniasty took part in the opening ceremony of the hotel ‘Ibis Kazan’.

‘Ibis Kazan’ is the 133rd hotel in Tatarstan. It is a 3-star hotel with capacity of 155 rooms. It is owned by Kesco company - the project customer and investor. French leader in hotel and services market Accor Group will manage the hotel.

Construction and design of the hotel cost 520 million roubles in total. The hotel services include: a European cuisine restaurant, 2 conference-halls, a business-corner with necessary equipment, an underground parking, and free wireless Internet access.

Tatarstan Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov named the hotel opening a welcome event for Kazan residents. He emphasized that after the Millennium celebrations, Tatarstan attracts more foreign investors and partners. Now Kazan is actively working on development of infrastructure: construction of hotels, transport interchanges on the threshold of the Universiade-2013.

Jean de Gliniasty also pointed out the potential of Tatarstan capital in the issues of attracting large investments. According to his words, it is the first hotel ‘Ibis’ in Russia beyond Moscow and St. Petersburg. It has been constructed in the third capital of Russia – Kazan. There are about 800 hotels of this brand in the world.
