France Ambassador invites Tatarstan to participate in Year of France in Russia

The head of Tatarstan Government Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Russian Federation Jean de Gliniasty at RT Cabinet of Ministers on June 19.

“We are interested to attract French businessmen to Tatarstan, establish new business contacts, exchange experience between our specialists and their French colleagues, and also develop of cooperation in education,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

Tatarstan premier pointed out development of car spares production as a project which could be realized using French technologies.

As an example of cooperation with foreign companies he named mutually beneficial contacts with Schneider Electric company (this company opened a production unit and a training centre on the territory of Tatarstan).

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Russian Federation invited Tatarstan Prime Minister to take part in the Year of France in Russia (2009) and the Year of Russia in France (2010) events.

Mr. Gliniasty also offered to use ‘The Silk Road’ rally, which starts in Kazan Septembe 2009, as a unique opportunity to advertise the Republic of Tatarstan in France, attract attention of the country’s car manufacturers and businessmen. The ambassador reminded that the French company A.S.O. “Amaury Sport Organisation” (the organizer of Dakar) is engaged in holding the rally.

Another field for cooperation with Tatarstan is programmes of energy-saving and energy-efficiency, Jean de Gliniasty believes.

Today June 20 Mr. Gliniasty participates in the solemn opening ceremony of Ibis Hotel in Kazan, the press-service of Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers informs.
