The Tatarstan’s chief auto maker Kamaz and State Transport Leasing Company have today signed a cooperation agreement.

To attend the singing ceremony, the State Leasing Company delegation, led by the general director Viktor Klochai, as well as Russian Transport Minister Igor Levitin and Tatarstan Prime Minister Roustam Minnikhanov arrived at the plant. The mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Ildar Khalikov was present as well.

Over the course of the visit, the guests, accompanied by the plant’s general director Sergei Kogogin, visited the premises of the joint venture Cummins Kama, auto plant, research and development centre, as well as a display of Kamaz advanced equipment. They learned about the Kamaz Master sports team’s activities.

After the tour, the Russian transport minister Igor Levitin got behind the wheel of a restyled Kamaz vehicle and drove it to Kamaz main office.

“Today in Naberezhnye Chelny, we have signed an agreement, first in Russia, providing for purchasing Kamaz autos for road companies in the entire Russia. In general, cooperation with Kamaz is long-term. Kamaz vehicles are to be supplied for snow clearing at airfields in Siberia and the Far East,” said the transport minister. He went on to add that all the vehicles were to be equipped with the Glonass system, allowing to monitor the auto’s effectiveness.

“In the critical conditions, 3.5 billion roubles is a serious support for Kamaz, plus to the orders in backlog. This is not a one-time order, but systemic work, and we will continue to work in this direction,” claimed the prime minister Roustam Minnikhanov.
